Prudential upgrades its digital platform to issue life insurance policies within minutes

Customers can now gain instant access to view and manage their new policies through Pulse by Prudential

Phnom Penh, 28 January 2022 - Prudential Cambodia today launched its elevated digital service standard to issue most life insurance policies within five minutes at the point of sales, making financial security more accessible for more Cambodians.

Prudential’s omnichannel approach provides customers with multiple options to purchase its insurance products, either at the comfort of using their own digital devices, or seeking advice from financial consultants. After submitting all necessary information, the insurer’s automated underwriting platform assesses new applications in seconds, then issues new insurance policies within minutes instead of days.

With immediate access through the insurer’s holistic health and wealth management app, Pulse by Prudential, customers can instantly view and manage their new policies, including updating the beneficiary information.

“As the first digital insurer in Cambodia, we want to continue doing our part to make insurance more accessible and affordable for all Cambodians. Technology not only enables us to deliver simpler, better customer experience, but also empowers us to get better connected with our customers,” said Sanjay Chakrabarty, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Cambodia.

“The new platform also helps us assess and approve claims more quickly, enabling customers to access funds when they need it most,” added Chakrabarty.

Since 2013, Prudential Cambodia has been offering affordable and comprehensive savings and protection solutions through its insurance consultants to help Cambodians plan for their financial security, health and wellness. In 2021, to make it easier for more Cambodians to access insurance, the insurer launched three bite sized digital insurance products to address the most imminent health and protection needs, from dengue fever and motor accidents to affordable healthcare. Customers can purchase, manage and submit claims for these insurance products with an end-to-end digital experience, all available on Pulse.

“I purchased PruMySafety because I was concerned about unexpected medical expenses in case I met with an accident. Unfortunately, I broke a bone in a recent accident. I raised the claim on Pulse, then received the claim from Prudential in one day,” said Lay Keanghok, aged 26, a PruMySafety Policy holder.

Pulse is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered mobile app designed to bring holistic health and wealth solutions to Prudential’s customers in addition to helping them manage their policies. The app is available on both Android and iOS, can be downloaded for free and a user can register with just their phone number.
