Prudential and Royal University of Law and Economics announce Winners of an essay competition to promote access to insurance for women in the run up to Women’s Day.

Out-of-pocket medical expenses in Cambodia reached $856 million [as at 2018], reflecting the financial stress that Cambodian households face upon unforeseen health and medical conditions. Often, it is the women who bear the burden of managing the care of the family than their male counter partners. In the run up to women’s day, we partnered with the Royal University of Law and Economics to launch an essay competition for the students.

The topic we gave them was “Improving access to affordable insurance among women “. We received several applications from the students, highlighting that the topic connected with them. A panel of 5 judges comprising leaders from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia, Royal University of Law and Economics and Prudential graded the entries to identify 3 winners.

Today we are please to announce the winners of the essays. We would like to acknowledge the efforts of the winners in helping spread awareness about the importance of insurance to Cambodian women.

Congratulations to our three winners in Insurance Essay Competition:

We look forward to seeing them in award ceremony in mid-March, organized at Prudential Cambodia.
